Aduana Stars opened their CAF Confederation Cup group stage account with a loss to ASEC Mimosas in Ivory Coast on Sunday.

The Ghanaian champions were beaten by the Mimosas courtesy of former Asante Kotoko striker Ahmed Toure’s solitary strike.

The newly crowned Ivorian champions made their first-half dominance count in the 39th minute when Toure gave them the lead with a powerful header.

In the second half, Aduana improved their performance and created decent openings but failed to grab the equalizer.

Zakaria Mumuni, Nathaniel Asamoah, Yahaya Mohammed and Bright Agyei were unlucky not have found the back of the net.

Aduana Stars next game will be at home against Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.
